What’s Voodoo Up To These Days?

The posting around here has been light since Christmas, and I wanted to take a moment on a relaxed Saturday morning to review what I’ve been doing this year, and share some of the exciting things that have been going on. So without further ado, here’s whats up at Voodoo:

  • In case you haven’t noticed, BarCamp NOLA is next weekend. I’ve been spending a lot of time planning for that.
  • I’m working some consulting gigs into the rotation. This is part of an effort to do more business locally. It also comes out of a desire to have a balance between projects we own (and take the risk on) and projects we don’t.
  • I’ve been working on getting Villeamie.com, a stealth mode rewards network, connected GRS, a project that has been going on since September and has a lot of cool New Orleanians behind it.
  • In addition, we’re wrapping up an SEO project for Tim Bright and his Cashiers NC mountain home properties called The Preserve at Rock Creek.
  • We hired Will Donaldson, a Tulane MBA student who interned with siteMighty this summer to do business development for Flatsourcing.
  • We also have been working on redesigning the identity and relaunching the site. We are focusing on our niche of web development for industry professionals. We are live blogging about the site redesign and the logo updating in order to share with our clients the process flow for our collaboration.
  • siteMighty has some exciting things happening. We just signed a major new rev share agreement. And some things that I can reveal yet are in the works but you’ll be seeing us get a lot bigger over the next month if all goes well. We are going to move into a new development phase on the site to enhance features for our users.
  • In between all this, I traveled to beautiful Isla Holbox, Mexico for vacation and we celebrated Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
  • Over the next 3 weeks, I have BarCamp NOLA here, Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas, Future of Web Apps in Miami, and SXSW in Austin. I would love to meet you at any one of those events. Drop me a line if you’ll be there.

That’s it for the update. You’ll see things picking back up on the blog here now that I am back in full swing.
