Very interesting decision..I wonder what is the real reason for it?

Yes, that is very interesting. I wonder why they did it too. For a little while they had maps that showed the extent of the flooding, and after the water receded, it was important to show the maps with dry land. But I wonder why they went back to pre-Katrina maps. Thanks for showing us this news.

It is very strange that they went back to pre-Katrina data. After the storm, as the yahoo article suggests, we used Google Earth to see if we had water on our street (we didn’t), and to assess if the roof was still on (it was). It was a great service at a time when we had extreme amount of uncertainty in our lives as New Orleanians. It’s a shame that they have decided to use inaccurate information when accurate info should be available and at our fingertips.

It’s really great the “Katrina” didn’t affect your street, we really were worried for you at that time! So is it all back to normal life now based on what you can see around the city?
